Custom designed Couta Sailing Boat Weathervane
It’s always a mixture of anticipation and a little anxiety when Murray and I get requests to design and create a custom weathervane or metal art image for a client.
Often it’s a gift for a “special someone”. Most customers put a lot of forethought and planning into the request so we are under the pump to do a job that will not only be acceptable but hopefully delight the recipient
Researching Couta sailboats was fun. Not only did I learn about their fascinating history, I also absolutely had to drive to Port Albert with hubby to get up close and personal with one. Naturally, in getting into the spirit of marine research, we also needed to indulge ourselves at Port Albert Wharf Fish and Chips.
There’s nothing quite as lovely as being by Corner Inlet on a beautiful balmy day eating fish and chips wrapped in butchers paper and throwing scraps to the noisy seagulls.
The Good Things About Creating Custom Weathervanes and Metal Art.
Ok, so I admit it I can be a bit fussy when it comes to things that I love. I imagine that anyone else who is passionate about their hobbies or fur babies would be much the same. I try to draw the best image I can and hope like hell it’s not a dud!
I know, for example, if I see horses drawn with dreadful conformation faults I cringe.
A few pluses come from doing the hard yards of research for Bespoke Metal Art. I am learning to draw things that I usually would not as well as expanding my general knowledge.
